Arsenal have reportedly been credited with an interest in Marseille forward Mason Greenwood as the French club consider player sales to improve their financial position this summer.
The 24-year-old is among Marseille’s most valuable assets and could attract significant attention during the transfer window as the Ligue 1 side look to comply with UEFA financial regulations.
Marseille recently avoided a European ban but were handed a financial penalty after breaching Financial Fair Play requirements, increasing the pressure on the club to generate funds through player sales.
According to reports in France, Greenwood remains one of the names most likely to attract substantial offers if Marseille decide to cash in.
The former Manchester United forward is currently valued at around €55 million and remains under contract until 2029.
Despite suggestions that Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring the situation, a move to the Emirates Stadium appears unlikely at this stage.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been strongly linked with a number of attacking targets in recent months, with the club prioritising additions capable of improving the starting XI ahead of another Premier League title defence.
