Jade Benning was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance after Taylor called 911 and said Benning appeared to be having an allergic reaction and asked for paramedics. Police said Benning’s condition immediately became critical. Her unborn fetus died on Feb. 27. Benning was not able to be interviewed by detectives before she died on March 6, 2023, according to police.
Police said months of investigation, led by homicide detectives and supported by scientists from its crime lab and doctors, led to Taylor’s murder indictment.
During a previous court hearing, a medical examiner testified Benning had so much cocaine in her system that she couldn’t have died from recreational use.
