Micky van de Ven could yet leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs considering a move for the Dutchman.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Micky van de Ven has decided to stay at Spurs after being won over by Roberto De Zerbi.

In fact, it was suggested that the centre-back could even sign a new long-term contract at Tottenham despite the growing interest in his services.

The Spurs boss certainly does not want to lose the 25-year-old, with De Zerbi describing Van de Ven as the best left centre-back in the Premier League.

According to a report in Dutch outlet Telegraaf, Barcelona and Liverpool are both following Van de Ven’s situation closely.

Both clubs are looking to add a left centre-back to their squad and are big fans of the Spurs star, who has three years left on his deal.

It is revealed that the Lilywhites have been ‘working for months’ on tying Van de Ven down to a new contract, but the negotiations have not progressed as expected.

Van de Ven’s stance on his Spurs future revealed

TEAMtalk offer another worrying revelation by stating that the Dutch defender is ‘open to evaluation offers’ from other clubs this summer amid the stalled contract talks with Spurs.

The report says that Van de Ven is willing to assess opportunities which can offer him ‘greater sporting ambitions’ and a stronger platform to compete for trophies.

The outlet adds that if contract talks do not progress over the coming weeks, Tottenham could be forced to listen to offers for the former Wolfsburg man.
