The Browns shocked the entire NFL when they agreed to trade Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. In return, the franchise got edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick. Despite this, many felt the Browns lost a very talented player in Garrett, who broke the NFL sack record last season.

Deion, also known as Coach Prime, previously announced his opposition to such a trade deal. He said, “They got a killer on defense, I’m tired of y’all talking about trading him and getting rid of him. That don’t make no sense to me. That’s a once in a lifetime man. That’s a once in a lifetime man that you don’t see no more.”

However, he has now quickly changed his opinion after the trade. He recently clarified that he supported general manager Andrew Berry’s decision.

In a recent interview with Covers.com, he said, “I’m happy with Mr. Berry, the GM, and what he’s doing. I’m not going to question his direction of what he’s bringing to the table. I’m not there, so I don’t know all the intangibles that provoked that trade. I’m happy with what they got, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.” Deion also spoke about his son Shedeur’s uncertain role at the Browns.

He said, “Well, of course, I’m his dad. No, I haven’t spoken to him. I’m just dad. Of course, man. He’s gonna face haters like he’s always had. He’s not gonna face anything new that he hasn’t faced in the entirety of his life.”

Sanders added, “He’s always been up against the eight ball. He’s always been really undervalued, not really appreciated like he should, and he always comes through. He likes when odds are stacked up against him.”

Deion Sanders will be watching as his son Shedeur Sanders prepares for the 2026 NFL season.
