Liverpool are working on a deal to sign a new winger in the summer transfer window as they look to replace Mohamed Salah, who has now departed the club.
It was confirmed earlier in the year that Salah would be leaving in the summer despite him having a year left on his contract.
The Egyptian forward has struggled to hit the previous heights we've seen from him in recent years, and he was no longer a guaranteed starter last season.
Salah just started 23 Premier League games during the 25/26 campaign, also only starting seven times in the Champions League.
As a result of his departure, bringing in a new winger will likely be a major priority for the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Liverpool are in the driving seat to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande in the summer transfer window.
PSG are also interested, but Liverpool may have received a boost because they will only make a move if they get an indication from the player that PSG is his choice.
"This is getting quite serious now. They've done a lot of work on the player side that puts them firmly in the driving seat if he is going to leave RB Leipzig. They're tough negotiators led by Oliver Mintzlaff, so we can't say anything for certain just yet. We've seen in the past that it's like pulling teeth when you're trying to get a player from them, but usually if you hit the right price they tend to sell.
There is strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain. They do want Yan Diomande, and normally when they want a player, they tend to get them. They're becoming an increasingly attractive proposition as the back-to-back European champions and, of course, champions of France as well. At this moment in time, as I understand it, unless they get an indication from the player that PSG is his choice, they're not going to approach RB Leipzig. If they do get that indication, then, of course, they'll try and structure a deal."
Liverpool have already shown their hand and confirmed their interest by submitting an offer, so it's clear that they are willing to make that move for the winger, described as 'generational'.

RB Leipzig Want Big Fee for Diomande
Yan Diomande
As Ornstein mentioned, Leipzig are tough negotiators, and that certainly hasn't changed with a deal for Diomande in the summer transfer window.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Bundesliga club are demanding in the region of £104m to allow him to depart. Liverpool's recent offer reached just £87m.
It's certainly a huge fee for a player they signed for just a fraction of that last summer, but Leipzig know that he has some big interest in him while he's also starring at the World Cup.
Diomande is currently playing for Ivory Coast at the summer tournament, and strong performances will only strengthen Leipzig's chances of getting a huge fee.
