Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s influence across European football continues to be felt.

At Manchester United, the focus has been on long-term squad planning and football operations reform, as part of a broader effort to return the club to consistent European competitiveness.

That same multi-club approach has also placed attention on OGC Nice, where recruitment, management changes, and ownership discussions have all formed part of a wider transitional period.

With movement across both clubs under the INEOS umbrella, further changes have now been confirmed in the French side’s playing squad.

Charles Vanhoutte leaves OGC Nice

Charles Vanhoutte has officially left OGC Nice to join Feyenoord, bringing an end to his short but steady spell in Ligue 1, as the club announced on their website.

The Belgian midfielder joined Nice in the summer of 2025 from Union Saint-Gilloise and went on to make 37 appearances during the 2025–2026 season.

Known for his work rate and professionalism, Charles Vanhoutte also earned recognition as a Belgian international during his time on the Cote d’Azur.

Feyenoord, who are preparing for Champions League football, secured his signature after reaching an agreement with Nice for the transfer.

The Dutch side are continuing to strengthen their squad ahead of a demanding European campaign, with Vanhoutte expected to add depth and stability in midfield.

Nice confirmed his departure in an official statement, thanking the player for his contribution and professionalism during his time at the club.

“The whole club would like to thank Charles for his commitment and exemplary attitude, and wishes him every success for the rest of his career with Feyenoord.

“Thank you, Charles, and all the best for the future.”

The transfer also comes during a period of change at Nice, following the appointment of Olivier Pantaloni as head coach after the dismissal of Claude Puel.

Off the pitch, INEOS have also been exploring the long-term future of the club, including potential interest in selling Nice amid ongoing discussions with outside investors.

While a British investment group had previously been linked, and talks with an American buyer were reported, those negotiations ultimately fell through.

Even so, INEOS are still believed to remain open to future offers as the club continues to evolve under Ratcliffe’s multi-club structure.
