Inter Milan have reportedly set their own internal deadline on signing Curtis Jones this summer, as the Serie A giants look to accelerate their midfield transfer ahead of the new season.

The Nerazzurri have been circling the Liverpool academy graduate for months and see him as a key piece of their summer business.

Their interest in Jones actually dates back to January, when the 25‑year‑old first emerged as a serious target and talks were opened over a potential move to San Siro.

While that winter switch never materialised, Inter have continued to work in the background and have now returned to the table with renewed determination following encouragement from the player’s camp. Jones is understood to be open to the transfer.

Under Arne Slot, who was sacked at the end of last season after Liverpool surrendered their Premier League crown, Jones was never able to firmly establish himself as a regular starter.

He racked up 25 starts across the campaign and was used in a variety of roles, even filling in at right‑back.

Tuttosport reported at the beginning of the month that the Serie A champions could return for an improved bid of €25m, with an added percentage resale clause that Liverpool are said to “care very much about”.

But it now seems that Inter Milan are growing impatient with the drawn-out negotiations.

According to Gazetta Dello Sport in Italy, Inter have now set an internal deadline of 16 July to get a deal over the line so that Jones can join their pre‑season training camp in Germany.

The Nerazzurri want the midfielder integrated into the squad from day one of their summer preparations, rather than arriving late in the window and playing catch‑up. Liverpool, however, are holding out for around €30m and are also pushing for a sell‑on clause, while Inter’s offers to date have hovered closer to the €20m mark.

With that July 16 benchmark looming, the pressure is now on Inter to find compromise fee that Liverpool will accept.
