Scunthorpe United officially confirm Manchester United fixture

Manchester United’s 2026/27 Premier League fixtures were officially confirmed earlier today.
Michael Carrick’s side are set to begin the new campaign against Hull City.
While attention is currently focused on the upcoming season, supporters have also now learned of another fixture involving the club later this summer.
Scunthorpe United have officially confirmed that they will host Manchester United at the Attis Arena on Sunday, August 2.
The match forms part of a special event announced by the National League club.
According to a statement published on Scunthorpe United’s official website, the fixture will be part of the return of Iron Aid, a fundraising initiative that previously proved hugely successful during the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations in 2024.
The event is being organised in partnership with Nor-Lait Promotions and is expected to attract supporters from across the country.
Scunthorpe United General Manager James Moody expressed his delight at bringing the event back.
He described the original Iron Aid occasion as a huge success and revealed hopes of making this year’s edition even bigger.
A spokesperson for Nor-Lait Promotions also welcomed the announcement, highlighting the growing popularity of such occasions and the opportunity to bring Manchester United to the Attis Arena.
The fixture will see Manchester United Legends take on Scunthorpe United Legends, with former fan favourites from both clubs expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Earlier this year, Manchester United Legends faced Southampton Legends in a charity fixture, with former United star Antonio Valencia among the notable names involved.
Scunthorpe have confirmed that tickets will be available throughout the stadium, with adult admission priced at £15, concessions at £8, under-18 tickets at £8 and family tickets available for £40.
Further announcements regarding player line-ups, sponsorship opportunities, hospitality packages and mascot experiences are expected in the coming weeks.
