La Liga giants Barcelona have this week agreed on the terms of a two-year contract extension with a member of the club’s defensive ranks.
The player in question? Andreas Christensen.
Stopper Christensen has of course long seen his future in Catalunya’s capital considered as being up in the air. This comes with the Dane’s current contract terms due to expire this summer.
Fresh off another injury-plagued campaign, it had in turn been assumed that Christensen would either be allowed to depart on a free transfer, or perhaps offered a short-term renewal.
As alluded to above, though, the Camp Nou brass evidently maintain considerable faith in their defensive star…
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing several Spanish sources, an agreement has been reached for Christensen to extend his terms with Barcelona for the next two years, through the summer of 2028.
An official announcement on the matter is expected over the coming days.
