“He Just Said It” Stefon Diggs Announces Team He Wants To Sign With – What We Know

Stefon Diggs is getting through one of the more interesting NFL off-season’s of any player. His very public break up with Cardi B in the days following the Super Bowl loss went viral. Shortly after Diggs was defending himself in the court of law. The strangulation/assault trial resulted in a Not Guilty verdict for Diggs.

He now is healthy and ready to play in 2026. We might’ve just found out where that’ll be.

Stefon Diggs Just Leaked Who He Wants To Play With

A spokesperson for FOX 5 in Washington, D.C. confirmed Diggs’ interest in joining the Commanders.

“It’s a lot of hopes. We’re kind of figuring out, working through some things,” he said. He went further, describing what a homecoming would mean to him personally: “I did have a small piece of me like, damn, it would be great to come home and play in front of the fans I used to play in front of as a young adolescent… that definitely would be a moment.”

The following is his direct response when asked whether he had considered playing for Washington seriously:

“100 percent,” he added. “That’s one of the first things I thought about like, damn, if I wanted to come back and play for my hometown team. I just had that same kind of energy when I chose to go to the University of Maryland. So I was just like, damn, it would be a thing. It would definitely be a thing if that kind of worked out. So, we’ll see, we’ll see. We’re not ruling it out.”

In the past two seasons, Diggs has bounced between teams – Houston in 2024, then New England in 2025. In New England he went on to appear in a Super Bowl before he was released to clear salary cap space. The NFL declined to discipline him after he was found not guilty in his felony strangulation case.

Meanwhile, Washington needs depth and wide receiver. There is still a need for a true No. 1 option to pair with Terry McLaurin, and a reunion with Brandon Aiyuk appears unlikely as long as the 49ers hold on to him. The addition of Diggs woudl give Jayden Daniels an experienced 1,000-yard threat, the same role he played in Buffalo opposite Josh Allen. Here is the video:
