The Tennessee Titans have locked up one of their biggest pieces for the foreseeable future. Coming off a two straight three win seasons has fans hopeful that this squad can finally start to turn things around. While Cam Ward hopes to turn into the franchise quarterback the franchise needs, the team locked up someone on the defensive side of the ball.

Titans Extend Superstar In Huge Move For 2026 Off-Season
With a three-year, $105.8 million extension that includes $100 million in guaranteed money, the Tennessee Titans have made Jeffery Simmons the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.
In 2023, Simmons signed a four-year, $94-million contract. His career with the Titans began in 2019 when he was drafted 19th overall.
“Tennessee has become a second home for me,” Simmons said in a statement. “From Day 1, this organization believed in me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to pour into this franchise and community.”
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Simmons’ average annual salary of $35.3 million exceeds Chris Jones’ by just over $3 million.
In addition to 11 sacks, he registered 67 tackles and 21 quarterback hits in 2025. Based on PFF ratings, he led all defensive tackles in pressures and hurries last season with 64 and 42, respectively. For the first time in his seven-year career, Simmons was named the first team all pro.
