Which Baltimore Ravens Defensive Players Made PFF’s All 20-Year Team?

The Baltimore Ravens have had a lot of historic defensive players over the 20 years in the NFL. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Terrell Suggs is another player who is knocking on the doorstep for Canton, Ohio. They all were coached by John Harbaugh. They all won a Super Bowl together in 2012-2013 for the Ravens against the San Francisco 49ers.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy is chased out of the pocket by Baltimore Ravens Terrell Suggs (center) and Corey Redding during third quarter at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, in Cleveland, Ohio. The Ravens won the game 24-10.

That was the last time that Baltimore won a Super Bowl title. The defense has not been the same those players left. They were franchise icons and legends. During the 2023-2024 season however, the Ravens had another elite defense and were the number one seed in the AFC before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

PFF Names the Baltimore Ravens Top Defensive Players Over the Last 20 Seasons

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey (44) celebrates his interception during the fourth quarter of their game Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Baltimore Ravens beat the Green Bay Packers 41-24.

Profootballfocus.com has been listing the best offensive players and defensive players of each NFL team over the last 20 seasons in the NFL. The Ravens had an interesting defense no doubt. Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com wrote about it. Suggs, Lewis, and Reed are some of the players who were named to the Ravens best defensive players team over the last 20 seasons. Jahnke said,

“This defense already has two players in the Hall of Fame in Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, while Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata were among the top 52 modern-era players considered for the most recent class for the Hall.

The defense was relatively easy to put together, with ample positional flexibility. All three defensive linemen have notable experience at nose tackle, while Marlon Humphrey, Ladarius Webb and Kyle Hamilton all have played in the slot.

The only close call was at linebacker next to Ray Lewis, with C.J. Mosley and Roquan Smith as the two most notable options. Mosley was the better run defender, and Smith was better in coverage. In the end, Mosley won out thanks to his longevity.”

Marlon Humphrey was one of the most underrated cornerbacks that this franchise has had over the last 20 seasons. He was a true number one cornerback and always shutdown the other team’s top wide receivers. Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb were the other cornerbacks here. Kyle Hamilton is currently an elite safety.

C.J. Mosley was the other linebacker than Lewis. Suggs, Jarret Johnson, Michael Pierce, Haloti Ngata, and Brandon Williams were also named to this roster. Ngata and Smith were the other defensive players who were on the Ravens Super Bowl winning team. Looking at this roster, many people must be like how did the Ravens not win more Super Bowls over the last 20 seasons? It was probably because of inconsistent quarterback play from Joe Flacco and the New England Patriots being in the way also.
