Alisson says Brazil must focus on “creating a team that can become champions” rather than relying on individual talent after getting their first win of the FIFA World Cup.

After a lackluster 1-1 draw against Morocco in their opening game, Brazil came out firing as a ruthless first half set them on their way to a 3-0 win over Haiti in Philadelphia. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson had a largely quiet night in goal before making some smart saves late on.

Scotland and former teammate Andy Robertson now await in their final group game, with the prospect of superstar Neymar returning after Vinicius Jr put in his second straight man of the match performance and Manchester United star Matheus Cunha bagged a brace.

Speaking after the game, Alisson was delighted with Brazil’s response to their sluggish first game but insisted attention must turn to their next game and building a side capable of going all the way.

"A feeling of joy for having achieved our objective so far,” Alisson said. “Starting tomorrow we will be concentrating in Scotland. It's important to have excellent preparation; it will be an important game.”

Asked if team changes were the cause of the win, he replied: "Maybe so, but mainly because of the attitude.

“For those who analyzed the match, when we made it 3-0, Haiti opened up more and made it a little more difficult for us. We had some chances, but it's good enough. We set out to do this today, and the most important thing is the victory.

"An excellent performance, a very solid game from the team. We played the game we needed to play. Collectively, we managed to neutralize the opponent. We came away without conceding any goals, which was very important for us.”
