Man Utd now want to sign 23yo CL midfielder, club eyeing €60m for transfer

Manchester United are poised to reinforce their midfield department with multiple signings this summer.

The Red Devils will part ways with Casemiro when his contract expires at the end of June, while Manuel Ugarte could also head for the exit door after a below-par 2025/26 season.

United have already agreed a deal to land Atalanta midfielder Ederson, and talks are ongoing with West Ham United to secure the services of highly rated Mateus Fernandes.

Amidst this, Spanish journalist Miguel Serrano has now revealed that Real Madrid are looking to part ways with Eduardo Camavinga and plan to bring in another elite midfielder.

Camavinga has no intention to leave Los Blancos as things stand, but could eventually do so.

The Frenchman would prefer a move to the Premier League with a ‘Big Six’ team other than Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. He has no intention of joining Juventus.

United are the only club that has expressed keen interest in the 23-year-old.

Madrid want €60 million (£52m) to sanction the Frenchman’s sale, but United could propose a lower figure. The Red Devils have yet to hold formal discussions with the La Liga outfit.

Man Utd could view Camavinga as Fernandes’ alternative

The Red Devils appear determined to land Fernandes’ signature from West Ham. The Hammers want £85m for a sale, but United have no intention to pay such a hefty transfer fee.

Despite this, United remain locked in negotiations, and there is optimism that the Portuguese could be signed for less, as the Hammers need to balance their books after top-flight relegation.

If West Ham don’t change their stance, United could turn their attention to Camavinga, who would be a quality acquisition given his big-game experience and ball-playing ability.

The Frenchman averaged only 53 minutes per La Liga game last term, but still completed 92 percent of his passes. He won 63 percent of his duels with three recoveries and two tackles per outing.

He lost possession less than five times on average. He would be a top-notch signing. Comparing Fernandes and Camavinga, we would personally want United to pursue the latter instead.

However, United seem sold on finalising a deal for Fernandes. If there is a change of stance, Camavinga could emerge as a top target. A transfer could be agreed for £45m plus performance add-ons.
