Liverpool could soon face a problem in its pursuit of Yan Diomande, with Paris Saint-Germain potentially about to be in a position to make a move for the 19-year-old.
The Reds are stepping up the chase for their second signing of the Andoni Iraola era, having completed the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna this week. Diomande looks to be the next target, with Liverpool having made it clear to RB Leipzig that it would be willing to do a deal at around $115 million (€100 million).
Reports in Germany have suggested that a first bid has already been made and rejected. It remains to be seen whether an improved offer will be made by the Reds, although they may need be wary of PSG now.
The European champions are also in the running for Diomande, although no offer has yet been made. That could be about to change soon though as the club potentially lines itself up to make an approach to Leipzig.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid has begun talks with PSG forward Kang-in Lee, with personal terms "getting closer" as the Spanish side prepares to follow up with the European champions.
Previous reports have suggested PSG needs to offload one or two of its current attacking options before making a play for Diomande, and should Lee head to Madrid, that could open the door for the French side.

The Atheltic’s David Ornstein has claimed that Luis Enrique’s side won’t make a move for Diomande unless it gets an indication from the player that he wants a move to Paris, although he has also confirmed that the Ligue 1 champions want him.
Diomande has dropped several hints over his future, including recently talking up the prospect of moving to England.
Speaking after Ivory Coast’s 1-0 win over Ecuador at the World Cup, in which he won the player of the match award, Diomande impressed reporters as he spoke in English, leading one to ask whether he would be interested in playing in the Premier League.
“I don’t know. I’m an RB Leipzig player, but why not?” the Ivorian said (via beIN Sports). “My agents will sort that out.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
“As for me, I’m more focused on the World Cup, that’s the most important thing. It doesn’t happen all the time, it’s only every four years, so I’m making the most of it, and as for the rest, we’ll see.”
Diomande’s hint came after his international boss was quizzed on his future, with Ivory Coast boss Emerse Fae laughing off the speculation surrounding his star winger.
"When we were in France, during the preparation, journalists told me he was about to sign with PSG," Fae said. "Here, they tell me he's about to sign with Liverpool!
