Harry Amass has just finished a frustrating season, driven by injuries, uncertainty, and no guarantees.
The full-back signed for Sheffield Wednesday in the closing stages of last summer’s transfer window although scored an own goal on his debut against Bristol City.
To make matters worse for Amass, Sheffield Wednesday went into administration during his time at the club, filling the air with further uncertainty as speculation increased about who would buy the club.
Harry Amass returned to Manchester United in January, after an impressive spell at Wednesday, and was loaned out to Norwich City in the hope that he could make further progress.
His spell with the Canaries did not follow a path of success, however, with him injured in training and forced to return to Manchester United. He did not return to Norwich, ending the season in further frustration.
Now, SunSport reports that Amass wants to leave the club on a loan basis next season with sources from the outlet ruling out the possibility of him staying to provide competition for Luke Shaw.
It is expected that the full-back will be named in their provisional pre-season squad with the potential for Amass and Shaw to be rotated throughout pre-season likely.
With two loan spells in the Championship, it is likely that that Harry Amass will be loaned out into the English second tier again although those at the very top of League One may look to compete too.
Amass’ exact next club is uncertain although his next step is certain. A loan spell will help the full-back to develop further, potentially preparing him for full-time life at Manchester United.
His contract lasts until next year with an option to extend the contract by one year, making his coming loan spell even more pivotal.
