Harry Maguire narrowly missed out on England’s squad for the World Cup finals currently happening in North America.
The central defender, who started as Manchester United finished third in the Premier League, has previously been one of the first players selected for international tournaments with his country.
This time, however, he has been left to reflect on his season with the Red Devils and the season ahead whilst also having a lot of free time on his hands due to him not playing.
Maguire has previously posted pictures of himself in Barbados on Instagram. On the other hand, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has also been pictured with one of the defender’s shirts as Manchester United formed their latest collaboration.
Now, in an unexpected move, the Englishman has been spotted in New York (where some of the games at the World Cup are taking place) selling Panini stickers from a stall in the streets.
It appears that the defender has found a new job to make use of his time away from playing football through this, and supporters have recognized Maguire on several occasions selling the stickers.
Panini’s sticker collection for the World Cup was launched at the end of April after an event to celebrate the launch was done in London.
It features a massive 980 stickers with every player from the 48 teams taking part a part of this whilst also featuring a number of special cards.
The company have been giving away cards at fan events across the three host nations, including in the United States of America, which could explain why Harry Maguire has been spotted giving cards to supporters.
Maguire’s participation in this campaign may therefore be a reflection of Panini’s aim to appeal to the American football market through a recognisable name.
