Micah Parsons did not have a good 2025 season with the Green Bay Packers. The franchise finished the season with a 9-7-1 record and were second in the NFC North division. They were then knocked out in the Wild Card Round by their rivals Chicago Bears.
The offseason is currently ongoing, with players either enjoying this time to relax or prepare themselves for the next season. Parsons has recently been criticized for his previous behavior.
Darren Woodson goes off against Micah Parsons
Before playing for the Packers, Parsons spent 4 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. The two parties had a messy breakup which led to him going to the Packers after the 2024 NFL season. His chaotic departure is still fresh for many Cowboys fans, including one legend named Darren Woodson.

Woodson played as a safety for the Cowboys from 1992 to 2003, and won three Super Bowls with them. He recently spoke on the Doin’ Alright podcast, where he subtly criticized Parsons for his preseason behavior for the franchise. He did not directly call out his name, but it was clear who he was talking about, as he described what the defensive end specifically did before his departure.
He said, “I think they’ve held on to guys way too long. And when you hold on to those viruses, man, it just continues to compound through the organization. And then you have a culture that’s just loose, and guys are falling asleep during pre-games. It’s just ridiculous. Or out in the stadium, actually in the stadium, laying down on their back. Like, you just can’t. You can’t do that.”
Parsons has not yet responded or acknowledged the indirect criticism levied at him. The incident that Woodson was referring to was one of the reason behind the departure of Parsons from the Cowboys.
Micah Parsons’ preseason incident with the Dallas Cowboys
During a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons before the start of the 2025 NFL season, a viral image showed Parsons lying on a medical table on the sideline while receiving treatment for his back. While it was not that of a mistake, at the time he was involved in a contract standoff with the Cowboys. For the fans at the time, it was a sign of disrespect towards the franchise and many thought he did not wish to stay with them.
Parsons later tried to defend himself and said that he was simply receiving treatment and was not on the table for long. He said, “I’d never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives.” However, the player was later traded to the Packers in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027. Cowboys fans still criticize the player even after he left them.
Micah Parsons may have left the Cowboys, but it seems that his departure and its circumstances are still well remembered.
