Liverpool in'direct contact'with£52m winger's agents, wants£8.6m/yr salary

Liverpool have reportedly made direct contact with the agents of Karim Adeyemi as FSG look to hand Andoni Iraola the attacking talent needed to bring his football vision to life.

After hijacking Newcastle United’s talks to sign Victor Munoz on a six-year contract by triggering his €40m (£34.6m) release clause, Liverpool have ramped up their pursuit of Yan Diomande.

Reports indicate that Liverpool had a bid worth €90m (£78m) fixed plus €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons rejected by RB Leipzig, but will return with an improved bid worth around €115m (£100m).

The Ivorian is not the only attacker linked with Liverpool, with reports now claiming that FSG are in direct contact with Adeyemi’s representatives, who would be relatively easy to sign given that he was excluded from Germany’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Latest Karim Adeyemi transfer news places Liverpool at the centre of fight for his signature

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, reporting for Fussball Daten, Liverpool are in close contact with the 24-year-old’s agents but face competition for his signature from Chelsea, Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Konur reports: “Dortmund’s management is unwilling to concede to the player’s demands to increase his current annual salary from €6.5 million to €10 million, in addition to his insistence on high release clauses in his contract.

“Within the club, there is growing suspicion that the player and his agent are deliberately delaying the process to allow the contract to expire and then pursue a lucrative free transfer, complete with a substantial signing bonus, when his current deal ends in June 2027.”

Adeyemi is reportedly valued at around €60million (£52m) after a season which saw him contribute 10 goals and six assists at Dortmund.

Konur continued: “The clubs most closely monitoring Karim Adeyemi’s situation from their sidelines are Premier League heavyweights. Chelsea, seeking depth and creativity in their attacking rotation, and Manchester United, looking for alternative options for their forward line, are keeping a close eye on the situation.

“Furthermore, Aston Villa and Liverpool are reportedly in direct contact with the player’s agency, as the allure of English football holds significant weight for the player. Rumors suggest that Aston Villa, in particular, have been tracking the player for some time and are laying the financial groundwork for a serious bid.”
