Man Utd eye transfer move for'world-class'German star - report

Manchester United want to sign a left winger this summer as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

United have been linked with West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville. The Hammers need to raise funds following their relegation to the Championship and are prepared to sell him for £50 million.

Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye are also on United’s radar.

German outlet Fussballdaten now claim that the Red Devils are monitoring the situation of Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.

Dortmund are ready to sell Adeyemi for £35m as he has just one year left on his contract.

Liverpool and Aston Villa are said to have made contact with his representatives, while Chelsea and Fenerbahce are also considering a move for him.

Adeyemi scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 39 games across all competitions last term.

He was a regular in Dortmund’s starting line-up but lost his spot in the second half of the season, which cost him a place in the Germany’s World Cup squad.

Adeyemi can hurt defences with his direct dribbling, explosive pace, intelligent runs in behind and powerful ball-striking ability. He also has an impressive work rate.

The 24-year-old, who was once described as ‘world class‘ by former Dortmund manager Niko Kovac, is primarily a right winger, but can play anywhere across the frontline.

However, the Germany international lacks consistency in his decision-making. He averaged just 0.6 key passes per game and created just six big chances in the Bundesliga last term.

While he is available at a cut-price fee, he is expected to demand a huge salary, potentially making a deal difficult for United.

Adeyemi would add pace and directness to United’s attack, but they may be better served targeting a more well-rounded and consistent forward this summer.
