Madison Beer doesn’t usually share much about her relationships publicly. When she does open up, the contrast with everything that came before stands out.
In a new interview, the pop singer described what dating Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has been like compared to her past relationships, and the language she used left little ambiguity about how serious it has become.

“When I’m having a convo with my boyfriend, my hair could be on fire and I wouldn’t notice,” Beer said. “And to be honest with you, he’s the first person I’ve ever felt that way about. Like, the world could be ending around me and I wouldn’t realize. It’s just so mature. He came into my life at the perfect time.”
She also revealed an unusual detail about how the relationship started.
“Our first date was literally at my house because we were scared to go in public.”

Beer and Herbert were first linked in August 2025 after Herbert was spotted visiting one of Beer’s photoshoots. They confirmed the relationship publicly on October 5 when cameras caught them sharing a kiss on the sideline before a Chargers game against Washington, per a relationship timeline compiled by Billboard.
Beer’s ex-boyfriend Nick Austin had previously reacted to the initial dating rumors in August with a cryptic Pink Panther meme on social media.
Herbert, 28, rarely speaks publicly about his personal life, which made his March 5 birthday tribute to Beer notable.
“Happy birthday to my favorite person of all time,” Herbert wrote on Instagram. “I love you so much. You’ve changed my life forever.”
Beer separately credited the relationship with helping her overcome a lifelong fear of flying, given how often Chargers travel requires her to be in the air during the NFL season.
“He flies all the time, like when they’re in season, like every single week, and I could never,” Beer said. “So it makes me feel better that he’s taken so many flights and they’ve all been OK.”
The couple has now been together for roughly 10 months, attending Lakers games, a World Series game, and the Grammys together along the way.
