‘Stop Trying To Rush the Process’ — Cleveland Analyst Urges Browns To Stick With Shedeur…

For years, theCleveland Browns have been looking for stability at the quarterback position. With the latest debate making headlines during the off-season, there is one local analyst who thinks that the team may get into another cycle.

On his talk show at 92.3 The Fan on June 20, the Browns analyst Earl Da Pearl told the Browns to be patient with their second-year QBShedeur Sanders.

Browns Analyst Urges Cleveland To Give Shedeur Sanders A Full Season

Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders passes on the first day of minicamp at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus of the Cleveland Browns in Berea, Ohio on June 9, 2026.

During an appearance with Spencer German, Earl Da Pearl pushed back against recent conversations about adding another QB, including former Cincinnati signal-caller Brendan Sorsby.

The analyst argued the Browns already have a young quarterback worth evaluating.

“In my opinion, what the Cleveland Browns should do…stay the course with your current QB room. Stop trying to rush a process. If you get the opportunity to see what Shedeur Sanders can give you for 17 games this year, then you take that opportunity.

I do not believe for one second that Brendan Sorsby is better than Shedeur Sanders…especially when your head coach told you flat out, ‘I don’t want him on my roster.'”

This is coming as the new head coach, Todd Monken, maintains an ongoing competition between Sanders and experienced Deshaun Watson.

For his rookie year, Sanders ended up throwing 7 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and having a 3-4 record as a starting player. However, despite all of this, there were still compliments on how he developed during the offseason.

Andrew Berry, the team’s general manager, called Sanders’ spring “phenomenal” while the coaches commended him for his better footwork and decision-making.

As Watson is back from yet another Achilles tendon injury and the Browns are looking to find their answer at the quarterback position, there are many analysts out there who think that Cleveland needs more clarity than just a QB.

It will be seen in training camp and the preseason who ends up starting the Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
