Arsenal now planning move to sign 26-goal/assist winger

Arsenal are poised to reinforce their forward department during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League crown last month, but there is still room for improvement in the final third.

Left-wing duo Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are about to enter the last year of their contracts, and the latter has been fancied to move on.

A marquee left winger could be signed, and The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are planning to step up their interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

Unai Emery’s side need to sell this summer to stay within financial guidelines, and Arsenal believe Villa may be willing to talk at around £85 million.

Despite Villa qualifying for the Champions League, Rogers is open to listening to what the Gunners have to offer.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has been ‘leading a charm offensive’ for Rogers, trying to influence his decision in the England camp at the ongoing World Cup.

Arsenal likely to secure Rogers’ signature

Rogers had a productive 2025/26 season with the Europa League holders, contributing 14 goals and 12 assists from 55 appearances across all competitions (26 goal contributions).

The Englishman can comfortably operate on the left wing or in the number 10 role. He has proved his credentials on the left flank and would be an upgrade on Trossard and Martinelli.

The former Middlesbrough man had dazzled with his dribbling and direct running from the role. He likes to attempt long-range shots, which have been a rarity with the Gunners pairing.

He has also been effective in front of goal, missing just four big chances in the league. Trossard and Martinelli missed a combined 15. He created 13 big chances, while the Arsenal duo managed just 12.

Hence, Rogers would be a proper upgrade, and Arsenal seem in a strong position to land him.
