Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly seen an opening bid of £80 million rejected for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, with the Italian international also said to prefer a move to Arsenal amid growing speculation over his future.
According to emerging reports, Spurs tabled the £80 million offer earlier in the summer window as they look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new campaign.
However, Newcastle are understood to have immediately dismissed the proposal, underlining their stance that Tonali remains a key part of Eddie Howe’s long-term plans at St James’ Park.
