Everton have been linked with a move to sign Torino's Alieu Njie this summer.
The Toffees know just how much work is needed this transfer window if they are to have any chance of making Europe next season.
They missed out as a result of their dismal end to the campaign last time out, where their lack of depth and quality in the forward line was exposed.
Everton and David Moyes are looking to address that in the coming months, having already been linked with several attacking players.
Njie is the latest to be mooted as a target for the Merseysiders, with the chances of a deal already clear.
Torino's stance on Alieu Njie revealed
It won't be the first time Everton have suffered this, nor will it be their last, but the chances of landing Njie are rather slim.
That is because a report from Tuttosport claims that they see the wide attacker as almost "untouchable", effectively closing the door to a summer exit.
Everton have been willing to pay around £8.7million to land the Swede, though Torino's representatives aren't likely to be tempted at that price.
Njie still has three years left on his current deal with the Serie A side, demonstrating how they hold the cards with his immediate future, leaving them under no pressure to cash in quite yet.
What does Njie interest represent for Everton?
As unlikely as it seems, there is still a few things to be learned from the Toffees' interest in the 21-year-old.
With that said, the biggest thing is far from a good thing.
Njie has managed just two goals in his senior career, which is something that Everton themselves have struggled with.
The fact that the Blues are looking to add another goal-shy forward to their squad certainly begs the question as to what their plan really is this summer.
However, on the flip side, it also demonstartes that Everton are aware of the need to sign at least one more winger this summer, which should spark some initial optimism.
