Everton could live to regret Jarrod Bowen transfer after what David Moyes has said

Everton have been linked with a move for West Ham's Jarrod Bowen, though it may not be as exciting as it first seems.

First things first, the Toffees are in dire need of attacking reinforcements this summer.

And given Bowen's record for a woeful West Ham side last season, he would seem like a top addition.

The Englishman had a hand in 20 of their goals in the Premier League last term, which included nine goals and 11 assists.

Based on those numbers, it would seem like an absolute no-brainer for the Blues to try and snap him up, and of course, reunite him with his former manager.

However, David Moyes' comments in the past suggest that the Toffees may be eying a deal for the wrong reasons.

Given the time they spent together at West Ham, there will be very few, if any, managers who know as much about Bowen as Moyes.

And for that reason alone, the links make sense.

However, the Scotsman often utilised the prolific winger in a central position, and praised the way he changed games when doing so.

Back in 2021, Moyes highlighted how "Jarrod played really well up front," while also noting the impact that he had on the supporting attacking players.

Everton need a new striker this summer, but if Bowen is the player they have identified for that, then they would be making a huge mistake.

Where would Bowen fit in at Everton?

If the Merseysiders were smart about it, Bowen would be utilised on the right flank, given that is where they have struggled for quality.

None of Merlin Rohl, Tyler Dibling or Dwight McNeil has shown anywhere near enough to warrant that being their position next season.

In turn, that would allow Iliman Ndiaye to feature from the left, allowing him to cut inside and pose a threat, as he has done on countless occasions.

Having that duo on the wings would be a huge boost for the Toffees, who need to add another source of goals to their attacking options.
