Sneering English shock jock Rory Jennings ripped into Scotland - and branded defender Grant Hanley the WORST player at the World Cup.

The radio host also dismissed the Auld Enemy rivalry as being one-sided and compared it to his beloved Chelsea's own with west London foes QPR.

Scotland found an unlikely ally in ex Tottenham and Wolves midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who regularly puts the boot into Scottish football, in the evisceration on the talkSPORT lunchtime show.

Hibs stopper Hanley won his 70th cap in the World Cup clash against Morocco but was at fault for the Atlas Lions' quickfire opener which settled the game.

The pair joked that it feels Hanley, who won his first cap in 2011, has been "around for about 30 years".

Jennings says he's praying Steve Clarke's men, on course to make history and reach the knockout stage of a major international tournament for the first time ever, Scotland and England meet in the last-16 so Thomas Tuchel can rest players for a potential quarter final against Brazil, claiming it would be a "tap in".

Jennings said: “It could still be Scotland-England in the last 16 and that would be amazing for us. That’s 5-0 at half-time.

But O’Hara replied: “You’re out of order. I get Scotland are our rivals, but I like to see them do alright.”

Jennings said: “But it’s a unilateral rivalry. They hate us and we’ve got other things to worry about. It’s like QPR fans hating Chelsea. Yeah, we hate you when we play you but we’ve got other things to worry about ‘we’re playing at the ‘Nou Camp, we can’t worry about you just now’.

"Scotland are QPR in that comparison and Chelsea are England. QPR fans will sing about Chelsea when they are playing Macclesfield but Chelsea fans won’t sing about QPR until they play them.

O’Hara said: “If Scotland get out of the group they have something in the locker. They’re alright.”

Jennings: “It’s well hidden in the locker! They’ve got Grant Hanley still playing at the back. He’s the worst player at the tournament. Scotland played five a the back and conceded in a minute. They’ve got Grant Hanley at the back. We could end up playing them. That’s a tap in. Grant Hanley against Harry Kane. Steve Clarke against Thomas Tuchel. We could rest players in that fixture so it could be great for us. We would be worried about facing Brazil in Miami in the next game. Jordan Henderson might get a runout. He wouldn’t even be the worst player on the pitch - Grant Hanley’s on it.”

O’Hara added: "I feel like Grant Hanley’s been playing for about 30 years. He’s not the worst player at the tournament. I wouldn’t be bothered if Scotland got through. I’d like to see them doing well.”
