Wilson Isidor at Sunderland

And given their need for attacking reinforcements, the initial links made sense.
Much of it was off the back of his double-digit goalscoring season in the Championship, which he took momentum from into the Premier League.
However, the arrival of Brian Brobbey saw him cast aside at Sunderland, with Isidor finishing the campaign with just 11 starts, alebit with six goals.
His lack of gametime saw him linked with an exit from the Stadium of Light, with the Toffees among those said to be keen.
However, as one Sunderland forward edges closer to an exit, it seems clear what Everton's chances of landing the signing of Isidor really are.
Sunderland striker looks destined for exit
Isidor wasn't the only striker to suffer from a lack of gametime at Sunderland, with Elizer Mayenda having suffered a similar fate.
However, his potential has sparked interest from several clubs, with reports abroad suggesting that Rennes are making progress in their attempt to sign him.
And what this means for Everton is that their interest in Isidor, if it still remains, is likely to amount to nothing.
Sunderland need depth having qualified for the Europa League, and to sanction exits for two strikers is almost certainly off the cards this summer.
What type of striker do Everton need?
Ironically, Isidor is the exact type of profile that they need.
Everton have two target-man-style forwards in the shape of Thierno Barry and Beto, but no one with the ability to get in behind a defence if the situation requires it.
Ultimately, that is the type of striker that the Blues need to look to recruit this summer if they are to address their attacking woes that have lingered for several seasons now.
Lois Openda is another name to have been mooted with a move to Hill Dickinson, showcasing that Everton are well aware of that requirement in the coming months.
However, whether they are successful in their attempts to recruit that type of profile remains to be seen.
