Liverpool transfer target Yan Diomande has left the door open to joining a Premier League club.

When asked about the prospect of moving to England, the Ivorian international was non-committal, but he pointedly did not rule out the possibility:

“Would I be open to the Premier League? I don’t know, I am an RB Leipzig player, but why not? My agents will sort that out.”

“As for me, I am more focused on the World Cup, that’s the most important thing. It doesn’t happen all the time; it’s only every four years, so I am making the most of it, and for the rest, we’ll see.”

Liverpool are expected to make a second bid

Diomande has already been the subject of one offer from the Reds, worth up to €100m (£87m), but the proposal was well below Leipzig’s valuation of the player.

The Bundesliga side are reluctant to offload the 19-year-old, and they have been hoping to tie him down to a new contract, which would include a release clause for next summer.

However, Diomande is reportedly considering a move now. For that to happen, though, Andoni Iraola’s team may have had to pay between €120m (£104m) and €130m (£113m). A second bid is likely to be lodged soon.

Are other clubs interested in signing Diomande?

The likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the Ivorian over the past few months, but it looks like it could be a straight fight between Liverpool and European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

At the moment, only the Reds have made an offer for Diomande, and there is a feeling that PSG may only make a move if it becomes clear that Bradley Barcola wants to leave the Parc des Princes.
