Steven Gerrard's children have sent the former Liverpool captain loving messages to mark Father's Day. Gerrard shares four children with his wife Alex, they have daughters Lily, Lexie, Lourdes and son Lio. He also became a grandad for the first time last year after his eldest daughter Lily gave birth to a baby girl.
To show appreciation for her dad, Lilly shared a selection of photographs of the two together through the years. She captioned a post: "Happy Father's Day to my dad. I hope your day is as special as you are to us. Thank you for being you and for everything you do for us. So lucky to have you, lots of love Lil and Lila."
Lourdes Gerrard posed for a selfie with the Liverpool legend as she reiterated the love shown by her sister. She posted: "Happy Father's Day to my best friend. I love you the world, thank you for everything."
The sweet messages continued as Lexie Gerrard uploaded a photo of the whole family together, as she wrote: "Happy Father's Day to my amazing dad. You are the best dad I could ask for. Thank you and I love you so much. The best girl dad."

Gerrard often shares insights into his family life and is enjoying his time as a grandad. He was sent a congratulations message from Liverpool after Lila was born, containing a gift for the baby.
The message read: "Dear Steven and family, congratulations on the arrival of baby Lila Grey. With love and best wishes from all at Liverpool Football Club xx."
Gerrard recently opened up on life as a doting grandad during an appearance on a new podcast from The Smith boxing brothers. He said: "I've had loads of free time with the family with the granddaughter coming, so trying to be around Lily and her partner Lee as much as we can."
Gerrard said he has loved welcoming a new generation of his family into the fold, as he shared: "It's unbelievable. It's just the same buzz as when your own come. So loads of that."

Lily has continued a special family tradition with the name of her baby girl. The adorable name keeps with a family tradition of naming their children with an 'L' initial.
Alex leads a more private life than Gerrard and keeps her social media posts private. The couple have been happily married since 2007 after they tied the knot in a luxurious ceremony at Cliveden House in Berkshire.
