Man Utd Are Deemed Favourites To Sign£52M Rated Real Madrid Star As“Approach”Is Made

Man Utd could soon open negotiations with Real Madrid for Eduardo Camavinga, according to journalist Miguel Serrano.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Serrano said that Real have slapped a €60m (£52m) asking price on the Frenchman:

“Yes. There is indeed an approach from Manchester United, a club that has always been very keen, always had a penchant for buying players from Real Madrid…”

“United would be interested in Camavinga. Obviously, they would present Real Madrid with an offer lower than the 60 million [euros] that the club is seeking for the French midfielder, but that would also begin a negotiation process, that classic back-and-forth where Madrid would start at 60 million, United would open with a lower offer, and perhaps some kind of agreement could be reached.”

Serrano also refuted claims that Serie A giants Juventus could rival the Red Devils for Camavinga’s signature:

“They don’t have the money, nor would Camavinga want to go to Juventus. And with United it would be a different story because they’re back in the Champions League this year after a few seasons out.”

Camavinga’s price tag makes him an attractive target

In this day and age, spending just over £50m on a 23-year-old with 29 caps for France’s national team seems like a great piece of business.

Another factor in Camavinga’s favour is his positional flexibility. As well as being deployed as a holding midfielder, he has been used as an inverted fullback on the left of Real Madrid’s back four.

Man Utd are prioritising deals for other midfielders

Despite Camavinga’s apparent availability, though, Michael Carrick’s side appear to have made West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes their top target after signing Ederson from Atalanta.

Director of Football Jason Wilcox signed the Portuguese international when he was in charge of recruitment at Southampton, so he is clearly a big fan of his.

Even so, some may feel that Camavinga is better value for money, considering that West Ham are holding out for £80m to sell Fernandes.
