Depot After Dark: Freiermuth Wedding, Bernard Youth Camp, D-Line Snubbed

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article, but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for June 21.

Freiermuth Wedding

It’s one of the only times of the year that NFL players can truly get away, and it appears most of the Steelers roster is currently in Cape Cod for a very special event. TE Pat Freiermuth got married to his longtime girlfriend Jillian. Pictured at the event on social media were Mason Rudolph, Calvin Austin III, Connor Heyward, Darnell Washington, Najee Harris, DeShon Elliott, and probably many other of Freiermuth’s current and former Steelers teammates were there too.

Congrats to the Freiermuths!

Bernard Youth Camp

Steelers rookie Germie Bernard is already giving back to his hometown just months after entering the NFL as a second-round pick. He hosted a youth football camp in Huntsville, Ala., at Westminster Christian Academy.

He was briefly interviewed about Aaron Rodgers at the event. You can read about that here.

D-Line Snubbed

Chris Long recently ranked his top five defensive lines, including 3-4 outside linebackers. Given that the Steelers have hundreds of millions of dollars invested in this group, they should be included in any top-five list, right? Not in this case.

Long can’t get over what Pittsburgh put on tape last year.

“It’s hard for me to weight that group as heavily the way that defense played last year,” Long said recently on his Green Light podcast. “I just can’t put them up there with the Broncos and the Texans.”
