The Kansas City Chiefs are going into the 2026 season looking to bounce back from abysmal 2025 campaign. Injuries and poor play led to a 6-11 season and missing the playoffs entirely.
Rashee Rice figures to be a major emphasis on offense this year as they look to push the ball down the field. Now, they got some pretty massive news regarding their WR1.

Chiefs’ Rashee Rice Injury Update Goes Viral
A lack of offseason moves by the Kansas City Chiefs has raised concerns regarding their offensive strategy.
In addition to letting some wide receivers walk, the team failed to sign any of the big-name options available. The recovery of Rashee Rice from surgery while he was incarcerated was obviously a topic of great interest.
A 30-day jail sentence was imposed on Rice for violating his probation. He had just undergone surgery and had to undergo right knee debridement while incarcerated. In spite of this, it appears that he has not suffered any setbacks, infections or other difficulties. He will be out there for training camp, according to Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports.
“I’m told Rice might not even face a physically unable to perform (PUP) designation at the start of camp,” Goldman wrote. “It all comes down to the work he’ll put in for the next six weeks.”
In terms of passing game weapons, Rice is likely to be Patrick Mahomes’ main option. In his rookie season, he appeared to be a star in the making. Unfortunately a season-ending injury and a suspension seemingly cooled off the start to his year.
Now that he is entering his contract year, he has plenty to catch up to in order to convince the Chiefs to give him a long-term contract.
In light of the Chiefs’ failure to make the playoffs for the first time under Patrick Mahomes, the stakes for Andy Reid’s team have never been higher.
