Liverpool has its eyes on another summer transfer as the pursuit of Yan Diomande steps up amid his impressive showings at the World Cup.

Liverpool.com understands that the Reds have made it clear to Leipzig that they would be willing to do a deal at around $115 million (€100M) for Diomande, although it seems they will need to offer more than that to land the 19-year-old as his stock continues to rise.

Although Liverpool does look to be leading the charge, it could face some serious competition soon. Meanwhile, Diomande isn’t the only World Cup star the Reds are being linked with.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today.

Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig)

Paris Saint-Germain is expected to make a bid for Yan Diomande, according to Bild.

Numerous outlets have been claiming that Liverpool is getting ready to launch a second bid for the winger, with its original offer of around $115M not enough to convince RB Leipzig.

It's suggested now, though, that a bidding war could develop between the Reds and PSG, with the European champions "highly likely" to submit an offer to Leipzig. That, it's said, would be a "comfortable situation" for the German club, with talks over a contract extension ongoing.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

Liverpool.com says: Diomande and Leipzig are both in a strong position. The player can either choose between two of the biggest teams in Europe, or spend another year in Germany, likely with an improved contract and the knowledge that there will still be a lot of interest in a year's time.

The sooner Liverpool can settle on whether it will meet Leipzig's demands or turn to other options, the better. We don't want another long, drawn-out saga like with Alexander Isak last year.

Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund)

Liverpool is trying to sign Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha, according to TEAMtalk, with the German international 'open' to an exit as Manchester United is also said to be in the running.

Nmecha is valued at around $69 million (£52 million) and has impressed with Germany at the World Cup. Although he only signed a new four-year deal in March, his representatives are said to be sounding out potential destinations for him.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be admirers of the former Manchester City academy product, and have both been made aware of his situation.

Liverpool.com says: Although Diomande is clearly the primary target right now, Liverpool can't afford to leave other areas too long, and midfield should be close to the top of the list.

Nmecha is a versatile option, although Liverpool may want to find a more natural defensive midfielder, which does appear to be what its lacking right now.
