Bass player Helen Cockeram said: “The five-piece Riverside Blues Band's natural environment is in pubs, but the band has also adapted to the bigger festival, theatre and music venue stages in the area.

“Over the summer months we will be appearing locally at pub festivals and gigs, and a Summer Spectacular at Woodside Park, Lymington.”

The band plays a lively set of "foot-tapping tales from Chicago, Texas and Canvey Island, along with old school R&B with a healthy portion of classic blues – the focus is on uptempo and upbeat so get your dancing boots on!"

Featured songs and artists include Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Willie Dixon, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Rogers, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, JB Lenoir, the music of Chess Records and songs by the Beale Street Blues Boy himself – the great BB King.

The band also performs the electric blues sound of Texan T-Bone Walker, Texas blues from Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, ZZ Top, the British R'n'B of Dr Feelgood, and classics made famous by Cream and Eric Clapton.

See the Riverside Blues at The Crown in Everton on Sunday 5th July from 3pm to 5pm; or at Plough Fest at The Plough Inn on Saturday 11th July from 2.15pm.

The band will also appear at Lymington’s Summer Spectacular at Woodside Park on Sunday 2nd August from 11.15am to 12.15pm, followed by the Turfcutters Arms from 3pm to 5pm. For a full list of forthcoming gigs visit https://www.riversidebluesband.co.uk
