Ederson has reportedly informed Sky Sports that his Manchester United transfer is ‘practically done’, as relayed by Football Italia.
The midfielder will join Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund, the latter of whom has since made the switch to Napoli, as Red Devils players who were signed from Atalanta.

Ederson: The state of play
Just when Ederson thought his summer couldn’t get any better after agreeing a deal with the 20-time champions of England, he received a late call-up to the Brazil squad following an injury to Wesley.
Indeed, Carlo Ancelotti identified the 26-year-old as the most suitable option to make the delayed trip to the United States.
Ederson was an unused substitute for Brazil’s opener – a 1-1 draw with Morocco – on June 13, but he was granted a nine-minute cameo off the bench in their comfortable 3-0 win over Haiti.
In the clash, his soon-to-be club teammate, Matheus Cunha, found the back of the net twice in the first half before Vinicius Junior added to his account for the tournament on the cusp of half-time.
Ederson’s squad inclusion has allowed him to add to his three national team caps for the first time after a 15-month wait, and former Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini knew he’d eventually get his chance.

What did one of Ederson’s former managers have to say about him?
Gasperini said of the star (via The Athletic) after Atalanta’s Europa League triumph in 2024: “I’ve been fortunate enough to coach a lot of very good players.
“In terms of physicality, regains and the timing of his runs, Ederson is definitely an extraordinary player, one cut out for teams at the very highest level.
“It surprises me he still doesn’t play for Brazil, even if he’s often been called up. But that’ll come.”
As well as the Campo Grande native, United are actively pursuing a deal for West Ham youngster Mateus Fernandes (21).
