Former Manchester United star asks club to 'hijack' deal for FIFA World Cup star linked with Liverpool move

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has advised the club to hijack Liverpool's bid to sign FIFA World Cup star Yan Diomande this summer. The Reds have been in talks over a move for the Ivory Coast international, who has impressed at the World Cup this summer.

In a chat with Casinolyze, Saha urged his former club to make an attempt to sign the 19-year-old winger. He explained that the skillset possessed by the teenager makes him the kind of player that will be a world-beater before long.

"Man United should definitely hijack Liverpool’s interest in Yan Diomande. This type of winger now dominates football. When you have that confidence and simplicity in your game, to dribble, pass, be physical, and be courageous, I love that. Those styles are amazing.

I think Diomande had a great opening game at the World Cup, and it’s been a year with Leipzig where he’s done really well. I am pleased to see that kind of career because it was not easy starting in the US and now being a superstar. I think he can be a superstar like Lamine Yamal", he said (via metro.co.uk).

Liverpool have seen a €100 million bid for the RB Leipzig man turned down, with the Bundesliga side reportedly holding out for more money. They expect more clubs to join the pursuit for the former Leganes man once they watch him better at the FIFA World Cup.

Manchester United are interested in a right-footed winger, but their target at this time appears to be West Ham star Crysencio Summerville, who is also turning heads at the FIFA World Cup. Michael Carrick's side are unlikely to join the race for Diomande, particularly after seeing his potential transfer fee.

Manchester United, Liverpool eyeing move for FIFA World Cup star: Reports

Manchester United and Liverpool are among a host of clubs considering a move to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, as per reports. The Germany international has been impressive at the ongoing FIFA World Cup, scoring one and assisting another goal for his country.

According to TEAMTalk, Nmecha's performances at the FIFA World Cup have alerted Europe's leading sides to his quality. The 25-year-old will cost around £52 million, despite having signed a new contract earlier in the year.

Nmecha began his career in England, playing in the Manchester City academy as a youngster. A move back to Manchester may interest him, as could a move to Liverpool. He will likely leave his future until after the tournament to be resolved.
