New Updates
Doubts cast over move for Wharton
Liverpool moving for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton would come as a "surprise" this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The Reds are said to admire the defensive midfielder, although there has been no movement from the Anfield club. This is despite the club being on the lookout for fresh blood in their engine room.

Adam Wharton has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer
Liverpool are said to be keeping contact with Bradley Barcola as the club also continues their pursuit of Yan Diomande. That's according Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking to Born 'N Red.
The Reds are said to be at "completely different stages" with both players, with a bid having already been sent for Diomande. However, Liverpool are claimed to be discussing Barcola "every single week".
It was suggested that if PSG sanction an exit for the French winger then Liverpool could swoop for the star.

Diomande given Klopp stamp of approval
Klopp has hailed Liverpool target Yan Diomande as one of the finest wingers on the planet.Ahead of the Group E encounter between Germany and the Ivory Coast, which the Germans won 2-1, the Anfield legend spoke effusively about the youngster while appearing as a pundit on MagentaTV.
Klopp said: "Diomande is one of the best wingers in the world right now. He is unstoppable in one-on-one situations. Nobody defends Diomande for 90 minutes.
"You have to position yourself so that Yan has to move into the middle. And that's where the support is."Klopp's words have come amid reports that RB Leipzig are looking to bank around £100m for the winger. The Reds, while interested, have yet to meet that fee.
Salah speaks!
After helping his country to a historic first World Cup victory with a gola and assist, former Liverpool star Mo Salah (always tough to write) was in good spirits as he talked to the press afterwards. Egypt came from a goal down to beat New Zealand 3-1 on Sunday night.
"It’s a great achievement for all the players. It’s a great win. It’s a great vibe," The Egypt captain said. "The next game is very important."

Liverpool rebuff Curtis Jones offer
On Sunday evening, The Times reported that Inter failed with a second bid for the Liverpool midfielder, with a £21million offer falling short of the Reds' valuation.
Anfield bosses are said to be ‘increasingly irritated’ by the Nerazzurri’s conduct around the transfer and the ‘low-ball nature of their informal bids’, with FSG not entertaining the San Siro giants as ‘serious contenders’ for Jones this summer. With huge fees being quoted for players who do not have a trophy cabinet as stacked as Jones, it's perhaps easy to see why the Reds are unhappy with the offer. File this one under 'to watch'.
Klopp's advice to Iraola
Jurgen Klopp has some sage advice for incoming Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola: Get the ball to Florian Wirtz.
The 23-year-old struggled at Anfield last season. Wirtz is currently with Germany at the World Cup, where he played the full 90 minutes in his side's 2-1 win over Ivory Coast on Saturday night, having done the same in the 7-1 win over Curacao.
Klopp watched the game in Toronto as a pundit for German channel Magenta TV, and he said that Wirtz needs to be given the ball as high up the pitch as possible to create space for his side.
“The important thing is that we involve him in the game. There were moments against Curacao when I thought, just give him the ball,” said Klopp.
“Not even because he was the best passing option, but because, as a team-mate, I want Flo Wirtz to feel good.
“If I were (defender Nico) Schlotterbeck, I’d just give him the ball five times for no particular reason and see what he does.
“If you really want Flo Wirtz to get into a rhythm, if you want the place to really be buzzing, then give him the ball, because that’s when he feels completely at home."You can read more about what Klopp had to say about Wirtz right here.

Andoni Iraola issued with early warning
Andoni Iraola has been warned that he needs to hit the ground running at Liverpool, as he has only signed a two-year contract with the club.
Eyebrows were raised over the short length of the contract that Iraola signed, even though he signed similar agreements earlier in his managerial career.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James warned that with just a short deal, the Basque will have to impress quickly in the role. Found out more about what James had to say here.

Salah slams home reminder
Mohamed Salah showed Liverpool what they'll be missing next season as stunned on the World Cup stage on Sunday night. The iconic winger, who left the Reds in the summer, scored the goal that helped Egypt rally past New Zealand.
The Egyptian scored his first goal of the tournament in the 67th minute as Egypt overturned an early deficit to defeat New Zealand 3-1.
Receiving the ball just outside the penalty area, Salah surged toward goal before exchanging a quick one-two with Zico. He then took a return pass in stride and finished first time. He later bagged an assist as Trezeguet headed home to seal the points.

Florian Wirtz links shut down
Puzzling rumours of Wirtz heading to Chelsea this summer have been shut down. The German moved to the Reds last year for £116million but has struggled in the Premier League. The 23-year-old mustered seven goals and 10 assists for the Reds across 49 appearances in all competitions throughout his debut season. It was claimed Chelsea Xabi Alonso, who worked with Wirtz at Leverkusen was eyeing a reunion.
One report featured on the BBC Sport website on Sunday claimed Chelsea were 'keeping tabs' on Wirtz and could make a move
Our colleagues at Football London put that to a source close to the west London club and it has been dismissed. Read more here.
