Liverpool could be presented with a clear opportunity to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with rivals Arsenal focusing on Morgan Rogers instead.

Despite the £34.5 million signing of Victor Munoz and the ongoing pursuit of Yan Diomande, Liverpool continue to be linked with PSG’s Barcola.

It has been suggested that a deal for the France international could be separate to their efforts to land a deal for Diomande – having already seen an offer worth €100 million rebuffed.

But while the situation around Barcola is more of a slow-burner, Liverpool may have been handed a boost in any attempt to sign the 23-year-old.

The Mail‘s Craig Hope and Sky Sports‘ Dharmesh Steth are among those to report that Arsenal – widely touted as the other club to hold an interest in Barcola – are instead “stepping up” their advances for Rogers.

Any plans to sign Rogers come with Arsenal “prioritising the signing of a left winger,” writes Steth, which suggests the versatile 23-year-old is eyed for that role rather than an advanced midfielder.

The player is “open to listening” to offers from the Emirates, according to Hope, with Villa claimed to value him at between £80 million and £85 million.

Arsenal are also exploring a £34 million move for Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis, which is said to be independent of their interest in Rogers.

There is little to no mention of Barcola in recent reports around Arsenal‘s plans to strengthen in attack, while transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has continued to link him with Liverpool.

Could Liverpool sign both Diomande and Barcola?

In a live Q&A with Born ‘N Red on YouTube, Romano was asked whether both Diomande and Barcola could join this summer.

“This could depend on different opportunities, maybe on exits, so we should see what happens,” he explained.

“What I know is that Liverpool are maintaining contact for Diomande and for Barcola.

“They’re at completely different stages, because for Diomande they already sent an official bid, they are discussing with Leipzig, they are talking to the agents.

“For Barcola, it’s an internal feeling they have. So internally, Liverpool are discussing Barcola every single week.

“It’s a player they appreciate, a player they wanted ideally in summer 2025 but it was not possible. They love Barcola.

“I’m sure that if Paris Saint-Germain open doors to the exit of Barcola later this summer, Liverpool could be there.

“So I think it’s not just an alternative, but it’s a name they keep mentioning at the club while they negotiate for Yan Diomande.”

Romano added that Arsenal were “more leaning towards” Rogers over Barcola and that while it would be “complicated” for the champions to sign both, for Liverpool “it could be different.”
