Curtis Jones’ immediate future is looking increasingly like it will lie at Liverpool, with the Reds refusing to blink amid the approaches for their midfielder.

Jones has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer, with the Serie A champions having first shown an interest back in January before stepping up its pursuit in recent weeks.

A move to the San Siro is looking unlikely now though, with Liverpool having rejected a second offer worth around $29 million (€25M), and having angered the Reds after falling well below their valuation of around $47 million (£35M), which looks to be non-negotiable.

The Times reports that the club has been left "irritated" by its Italian counterpart, while other outlets have suggested Liverpool has no interest in dealing with Inter after it indicated that $27M was its ceiling.

With another potential landing spot also looking as though it may be out of the question as Tottenham targets Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, it looks increasingly likely that Jones will be staying put at Anfield - something which he hinted would be the case just a month ago.

“I’m excited [for] next season, it should be great," Jones said after Liverpool’s final game of the 2025/26 campaign against Brentford. "We can put everything behind us and just go and enjoy it. Go and play free.”

He added: “The important thing, as I said, is that this club is huge on sticking as one, and our family, and the fans are always there.

“It’s important that we got in the Champions League, and so next year, it’ll be exciting again.

“The lads that we bought have now played enough games that they will feel that they’re part of this as well, so you’ll see the best of them as well.”

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

With just a year remaining on his contract though, questions will remain over Jones’ long-term future. Liverpool is sticking firm to its valuation, and is said to more willing to let him go for free next year rather than sell him for a cut-price fee this summer.

Talks over a new contract have stalled, although Liverpool is claimed to be keen to explore a new deal if it can bridge the gap between the player's expectations and what the club is willing to offer him.

Some reports though have suggested that any talks over a new deal would happen later in the year, with the Reds having no concerns over Jones being distracted.
