Man Utd seek out Baturina for next season
As reported by TEAMtalk, Man Utd aim to secure Baturina for the next season. His performance against England in the ongoing FIFA World Cup has attracted **the Red Devils**‘ attention in particular. Baturina scored the equalizing goal for Croatia in the first half of their opening group match against England. However, the Three Lions romped home with a thumping victory of 4-2 by the end of the second half.
Baturina currently plays for Italian club Como. He joined the club last year. Baturina was acquired for a total amount of €25 million. The 23-year-old previously played for the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb between 2021 and 2025.

How can Martin Baturina’s transfer be beneficial for Man Utd?
If Baturina joins Man Utd, the Red Devils will receive a boost in their attacking lineup. United improved significantly in the 2025-26 season. They finished third in the 2025-26 Premier League. This was a significant reason why Michael Carrick [then interim manager] was rewarded with the position of the permanent team manager for the next season.
Carrick aims for a tactical evolution of the squad for the upcoming season. He wants a fitter, stronger side. This is why players like Ederson and Mateus Fernandes are pursued by Old Trafford for the next season. Likewise, if Martin Baturina joins Man Utd by next year, it will be a bonus. The left-winger performed well for Como individually last year. He also played a crucial role in his club’s dream run in the 2025-26 season. Como finished fourth in Serie A last year. This helped them secure a ticket for the UEFA Champions League. Additionally, Como also made it to the semifinals of Coppa Italia.
Future gameplan for Martin Baturina
For now, Baturina has his eyes set on the FIFA World Cup. Vatreni may have lost the first group match. However, they still have a strong chance. If they win both their upcoming games, they can make it to the knockouts. This shouldn’t be very difficult, given that Croatia will face Panama and Ghana next on June 24 and June 28 respectively. Croatia had reached the final in the 2018 edition, and finished third in the 2022 edition. They will aim to maintain the momentum in the current edition as well.
Baturina has a clean record in terms of discipline concerns. However, if he needs to make it big in world football, he needs to address his fitness issues. He sustained an ankle injury in a match against Juventus around February 2026. Though it wasn’t serious, the injury kept him out of action for a couple of weeks.
Manchester United are desperate to get back to winning ways. Though the performance in 2025-26 season wasn’t enough, it was certainly a massive improvement from the previous performances. Team manager Carrick wants to maintain the momentum. That’s why he needs players like Baturina in the lineup. If he joins Man Utd, a promising future is awaiting the Croatian left-winger. It remains to be seen if Baturina is equally interested in joining Old Trafford or not.
