Derby County are closing in on a transfer that will see Bobby Clark become a permanent Rams player.
The midfielder is having his Rams medical on Monday, ahead of a £7million transfer from Red Bull Salzburg.
The deal also includes a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause that will net former club Liverpool a seven-figure windfall, after selling him to the Austrian outfit in August 2024.
Clark spent last season on loan at Pride Park and was not only named the club’s Young Player of the Season but was also nominated for the Championship-wide award.
The 21-year-old made a big impression under John Eustace, playing in a variety of positions en route to amassing an impressive 45 appearances and scoring four goals.
Before the season had even ended Eustace made it clear he wanted to retain the youngster, with Clark himself opening the door to a longer-term move at the club’s awards night.
Clark spent several years in the Newcastle United academy before moving to Liverpool in 2021. He reached the Reds first team, playing 14 times including in the Europa League in which he scored against Sparta Prague.
A few months later RB paid £10million for the versatile player, with the sell-on fee inserted.
