“Personal Terms Already Agreed”–Journalist Gives Promising Update As Man Utd Close In On 2nd Summer Deal

Man Utd have “agreed” personal terms with West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

Speaking on the radio station’s YouTube channel, Crook confirmed that the Portuguese international has plenty of suitors, but the Red Devils are one step ahead of their rivals:

“Lots of interest in Mateus Fernandes as well. We know that Manchester United have basically got personal terms already agreed. Tottenham are now showing interest in Fernandez as well.”

United have still not tabled an official bid for Fernandes, but that is expected to happen sooner rather than later.

June 30th is a date to keep an eye on for Fernandes

West Ham are said to be under pressure to comply with Financial Fair Play rules and a sale before the end of this month, when the accounting year ends, could be on the cards.

For that reason, there is a chance that United are playing a waiting game to ensure they can buy Fernandes for the lowest possible price.

However, with the likes of Spurs, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain having also shown an interest in the 21-year-old, staying patient may come with its own risks.

Man Utd will announce another midfield signing next month

Michael Carrick’s side have effectively recruited one midfielder already, having agreed to sign Ederson from Atalanta in a deal worth up to £38m.

However, after the 26-year-old was called up to the Brazil squad for the World Cup, it is believed the transfer will not be formally completed until he returns from international duty.

Brazil’s 3-0 win against Haiti means they will more than likely reach the knockout stage, so Ederson is not expected to finalise his move to Old Trafford until the beginning of July, at the very earliest.
