Two days ago, Liverpool completed the signing of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz. They have paid the €40m release clause in his contract with the Spanish club. The Spanish international is currently in US for international duty with the Spain national team for 2026 FIFA World Cup. But the young forward has suffered a muscle injury recently.
Victor Munoz got injured prior to his transfer move
The Spanish winger was an unused substitute in the match against Cape Verde in FIFA World Cup. Three days after the match he had completed his transfer move to Liverpool. He had passed his medicals prior to his signature. Liverpool have officially announced the new signing via Instagram.
But an unfortunate incident has taken place. As reported by Cadena Ser, the youngster had suffered an injury in the last campaign. He was already recovering from that issue which he had carried over. But as of now, his recovery has been postponed. He has faced another muscle problem. The report states that his date of return is still unknown. His situation will be observed carefully.
The RFEF(Royal Spanish Football Federation) medical team have reported his medical condition in a statement. The statement says that, “During the planned and individualized recovery process, an additional muscle injury has occurred that will delay his return to competition. His availability for the upcoming matches will depend on the evolution of his symptoms.”

How Victor Munoz will add quality to Liverpool’s squad?
As reported by Caught Offside, the Spanish fans hoped that the 22-year-old could could get some minutes at the World Cup for Spain. He is a fantastic young talent. Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente can utilize his speed and technical ability on the flanks.
Munoz has become the first signing of Andoni Iraola’s era at Liverpool. He fits well into Iraola’s setup. His speed, dribbling in the attacking zone will be beneficial for his new club. He is versatile enough to play in several attacking positions. This will provide the Spanish coach enough squad depth in the attack.
