Geno Smith’s return to the New York Jets was supposed to be a fresh start. The team traded for him in March, bringing him back to the franchise that drafted him 13 years ago. Smith called it a full-circle moment.
Head coach Aaron Glenn and the Jets’ front office locked him in as the starting quarterback for 2026. This came after he secured a $19.5 million salary for the season, which is a $1 million raise from his previous contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.

However, his life became chaotic after a viral video surfaced over Father’s Day weekend. The footage, posted by an Instagram user identified as Kristen (@everythingkrisxo), includes on-screen text accusing Smith of physically assaulting her and neglecting their special needs child.
The video went viral just as the Jets community was counting down the days until training camp.
Woman claims Geno Smith beat her for asking him to care for their special needs child
Geno Smith’s reputation as an avid Call of Duty player is not something people can easily brush aside anymore, especially after the woman literally claimed the Jets’ signal-caller has a severe adult content addiction.
In the video, she wrote, “Today is the DAY! GENO SMITH beat my a– cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s*x online and play Call of Duty.”

Additional text in the video claims Smith threw her purses out of a vehicle and stole money from her car. The final visible frame reads, “Been supportive of this DEMON and his narcissistic personality disorder ALL MY DAMN LIFE!!!!!!!”
However, there is no visible violence in the video. Smith stays calm and asks the woman to leave. At the end of the video, a separate clip shows him talking to three police officers but no one got arrested.
Neither Smith nor the Jets have commented on the matter. The allegations are unverified, and police have not announced any legal action. However, with training camp starting next month, the timing forces the Jets to deal with a serious distraction before the season even begins.
