See the Morning Star newspaper soon for my latest World Cup dispatch, suffice to say it was an honour and a privilege to meet an inspirational group of people helping people with homelessness and addictions in downtown Oakland this weekend before I covered Paraguay’s win over Turkey 40 miles to the south at San Francisco Bay Area stadium.

I’ve had such a blast here in San Francisco over the last few days, I really don’t want to leave. I’m flying overnight from here on the west coast of America to Boston on the east coast, ahead of England vs Ghana on Tuesday, but would happily stay exploring if I could. It’s a city I’ve always wanted to visit, and it hasn’t disappointed. I’ve absolutely loved every single minute of it.
I’m trying to squeeze out as much as I can before I leave, and have somehow managed to get hold of a ticket for a boat trip to Alcatraz, despite everywhere online insisting it was sold out. I’m off there in a minute, so, I’ll here’s another ‘show and tell’ for your delectation. Thanks for reading as ever, see you in Boston, cheers.
