Chelsea do not consider Trevoh Chalobah as untouchable this summer after learning of interest from Italian side Como and multiple other Champions League clubs.

The Cobham graduate is about to enter the final two years of his contract at Stamford Bridge, though there is a club option for a further 12 months - and there is no indication of negotiations to extend said deal at the time of writing. Chalobah played 47 times in all competitions under three different head coaches throughout the 2025/26 season, but his future with the Blues is in doubt.

Como, the high-flying Italians managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, are one of numerous clubs with an interest in Chalobah. However, the Serie A side are currently not advanced in their pursuit of the 26-year-old defender. Sources say there are other Champions League clubs that have expressed a keen interest in signing Chalobah as well.

Club insiders insist Chalobah, who is valued at £34million on Transfermarkt, remains highly rated at Stamford Bridge, though they would consider a sale for the right price. Any fee Chelsea get would represent pure profit given Chalobah came through the club's academy.

Chelsea's sporting leadership team are working in tandem with incoming manager Xabi Alonso to sign a new central defender this summer. As first learned by football.london way back in January, the west Londoners are prioritising bringing in a starting-level centre-back before the 2026/27 campaign gets underway - one who can act as a long-term partner for the highly-rated, left-sided central defender Levi Colwill.

Colwill remains front and centre to BlueCo's plans in the long run and the ownership group, alongside Alonso, are looking to build the defence around the Cobham graduate. While Chelsea rate Chalobah, and what he offers the squad, highly, the Blues will sell the defender if the right offer comes their way.
