LSU Tops Toughest Places to Play for 2027

Dating back to the original PlayStation era, EA SPORTS has always included a metric that affects gameplay via a team's home field advantage. This does translate into real life, and while the NFL and soccer stadiums have similar experiences, it really doesn't compare to the top college football programs in the nation. The inability to communicate or the fact the crowd at a stadium can create a literal earthquake on the field and can completely cripple a visiting opponent. EA SPORTS College Football incorporates deeper aspects that affect gameplay with different variations. EA has officially announced the Top 20 Toughest Places to Play for College Football 27.

Baton Rouge Leads The Way in 2027

LSU comes in as the toughest place to play in 2027. What goes into this metric isn't explained by EA, but coming off of a year when the program replaced its coach with Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss, there is a lot of hype and expectation for this coming year. This can be experienced in week 1 of the season during Labor Day weekend as LSU hosts Clemson. LSU traveled to Clemson last year for the opener, but you will be able to witness this on full display that weekend, and feel it in your Dynasty for week 1. Good luck Clemson, you're going to need it.

Speaking of Clemson, the other Death Valley Stadium comes in at number 9, despite having lost some luster over recent seasons. Clemson will look to right the ship with a new quarterback at the helm this year. Clemson is also the only ACC team in the Top Ten list for College Football 27. The rest of the Top Ten are rounded out by Big Ten and SEC teams, which things weren't always that way with these teams.

Clemson is also the only ACC team in the Top Ten list for College Football 27.

Ohio State and Penn State come in at second and third on the list, which no matter the results of these programs, the stadiums will pack out and be loud. Georgia and Bama come in at fourth and fifth to help the SEC take the majority of the Top Five. Former Pac-12 program, Oregon, comes at six and the top west coast team on the board. Things then jump back to the SEC with the Florida Gators at seven and the Tennessee Volunteers at eight. Texas A&M comes in at tenth to round out the Top 10, which is surprising as many believe that Kyle Field is the most difficult place to play.

Where are the 2026 National Champions?

Indiana was coined as having the largest fan base in the country, somehow. Indiana won the National Championship and with the largest fan base to fill a stadium, the program comes in at 17th. The previous National Champion, the University of Michigan, comes in at number eleven. The runner-up to Indiana last year, the Miami Hurricanes, didn't crack the Top 20. To be fair, the college plays its football in the NFL stadium that isn't located anywhere near campus. The ACC is left with only Clemson in the Top 20 as Florida State doesn't crack it, and Miami isn't in it.
