Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to assess options in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

While much of the attention has focused on potential big-money additions, the club are also exploring experienced options who could provide depth in key positions.

Goalkeeper has emerged as one area being reviewed, with Spurs keen to ensure they have reliable competition and cover throughout the campaign.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been linked with several clubs in recent weeks.

As previously reported, Fiorentina are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the Spaniard due to his high wages, fuelling speculation over where his future may lie.

However, Tottenham’s attention appears to be focused elsewhere.

According to Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe on X, a former Manchester United goalkeeper has emerged as a leading contender as Spurs search for a backup goalkeeper this summer.

That player is Martin Dubravka.

The experienced Slovakian goalkeeper is currently available after Burnley announced his departure at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Dubravka previously spent time at Manchester United during the 2022/23 campaign after arriving on loan from Newcastle United.

Although opportunities were limited at Old Trafford, he remained highly regarded for the experience and consistency he had shown throughout his Premier League career.

Now 37 years old, Dubravka could offer Tottenham a dependable and low-risk option as they seek cover behind their first-choice goalkeeper.

His experience at both domestic and international level is viewed as a major advantage, particularly for a squad expected to compete on multiple fronts next season.

The development comes during a busy summer for Spurs.

Recent reports have suggested Tottenham are preparing a bid worth more than €100 million for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, who has also been linked with Manchester United.

While any move for Tonali would dominate headlines, it appears Tottenham are simultaneously working on strengthening other areas of the squad, with Dubravka now emerging as a leading option between the posts.
