Myles Garrett headlines 2026 Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame class

(KBTX) — When former Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett suits up for his new team, the Los Angeles Rams, for the first time, he’ll do it as an A&M Athletics Hall of Famer.

Garrett is one of eight Aggies who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, along with his former defensive line coach, the late Terry Price, who was named to the the Letterman’s Association Hall of Honor. The other inductees are Carrie Austgen ’83 (softball), Sarah Henry ’15 (women’s swimming and diving), Henry Lelei ’15 (men’s cross country), Maggie Malone-Hardin ’16 (women’s track and field), Tyler Naquin ’12 (baseball), Jaele Patrick ’12 (women’s swimming and diving) and Lindon Victor ’17 (men’s track and field).

Kelly Krauskopf ’83 (women’s basketball) will also be a recipient of the Letterman’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Garrett recorded 32.5 sacks in his three seasons in Aggieland and was A&M’s first-ever No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft.

Austgen was a defensive standout on the 1982 and 1983 national championship-winning Aggie softball teams.

Henry received 12 first-team All-American honors in her time in Aggieland, as well as three medals at NCAA championships.

Lelei was a two-time NCAA South Region Male Athlete of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and was part of A&M’s 2013 outdoor national championship team.

Malone-Hardin holds A&M’s top three marks in javelin and is a three-time Olympian for Team USA.

Naquin compiled a career .346 batting average for the Aggies with 112 RBIs and was the 15th-overall selection in the 2012 MLB draft.

Patrick was the Aggies’ first title-winning diver, winning the 3-meter springboard at the 2012 NCAA Championships.

Victor is the school record holder in the indoor heptathlon with 5,076 points and the outdoor decathlon with 8,539 points. He is a three-time Olympian for his home country of Grenada and won a bronze medal in the decathlon.

Price played defensive line for the Aggies from 1986 to 1989 and was part of two Southwest Conference championships. He returned to Aggieland in 1992 as a coach and made a name for himself as one of the best recruiters in the country. Price died while still serving in that position in June 2023.

After three years playing for the Aggie women’s basketball team, Krauskopf held administrative positions with the Aggie athletic department, the Southwest Conference, the WNBA and the NBA. In 2019, she became one of the first women to hold an NBA front office job when she became the assistant general manager of the Indiana Pacers.

The awards will be given on Sept. 11 at the 48th annual Burgess Banquet.
